Grief and Trauma: Supporting Children in the Aftermath of Loss

Illinois School Counseling Association Annual Conference
- We will define grief and trauma in the context of childhood bereavement and understand how these processes affect children differently than adults. Identify common signs and symptoms of grief and trauma in children after the death of a loved one, including emotional, behavioral, and physical indicators. Learn three evidence-based models of grief and trauma as they apply to children, and understand the importance of developmental stages in the grieving process.
